Hello, I am Lukas Schubert. I’m a Christian conservative running for Montana’s House District 8 as a Republican. HD 8 encompasses Evergreen as well as parts of North Kalispell.
I am a Glacier High School graduate and have been involved with Republican grassroots efforts to get conservative Republicans elected within the county. I currently own a small startup business and study at FVCC. I also serve on the county Transportation Advisory Committee and am the Secretary of the Flathead County Republican Central Committee.
I’m running in order to represent our community in the state house and bring positive change to the district and state at large by restoring the American Dream. I plan to minimize property taxes, fight the out of control judiciary and address the high cost of housing.
While the current representative is a Republican, his votes are not particularly conservative. He introduced a bill to force increases in property taxes to fund bureaucratic organizations (HB 530) and voted for a bill that would codify allowing people with unverified citizenship to vote (HB402). He also voted against the Judicial Transparency Act (HB464), and the Sheriffs First bill (HB604), two crucial pieces of legislation that would’ve helped deal with our out-of-control judicial system and empower local sheriffs to protect the 2nd amendment. This is why Democrat donors are funneling in thousands of dollars into his campaign (click here for proof).
I support property tax cuts, election security, judicial transparency and the 2nd amendment.
CAMPAIGN PRIORITIES

Cut Taxes
Lukas is a true conservative, and he believes in minimizing taxes. Lukas will seek to decrease property tax, which is driving up housing costs and in reality makes it so you never truly own your home! He will do this not only by decreasing the amount the state takes in from property taxes, but also making it harder for other governmental organizations to increase property taxes.
Another aspect of property taxes is that they need to be based primarily off of purchase price, rather than market speculation, so that people are not priced out of properties they’ve owned for decades! He will also seek other means to take government tax burden off of peoples’ shoulders, such as the Child Tax Credit, reducing the government tax burden on small businesses and more!

Address Housing Crisis
High housing prices are one of the biggest issues we’re facing in the valley. Along with fighting to decrease property taxes, which will not only help home-owners but renters too. Overall, Lukas supports decreasing taxes, fees and red tape in all facets of the housing sector. Lukas will also support barring non-citizens that don’t live in Montana from owning land. It’s time to stop the exploitation by foreign adversaries of one of our state’s greatest resources.
Lukas also sees the decreasing home ownership rates as a massive issue, as historically, property ownership has been one of the main drivers of retaining wealth from generation to generation. We need to bring back the American Dream of attainable housing for generations to come.

Judicial Reform
The Montana Judicial System is the root cause of why many important issues haven’t improved in this state, be it abortion, drag shows, education, energy or election integrity. On all of these issues, the legislature has passed good conservative laws that help Montanans prosper, however they were struck down or enjoined by the partisan hack liberal courts.
Not only that, but they are attempting to disbar an AG elected by the people because he is calling out the courts’ corruption. They are also ignoring the constitution, taking millions in campaign contributions from Democrat-aligned donors and organizations, and they appointed a Democrat donor to chair the “independent” redistricting commission, and much more. Lukas will bring back true checks and balances and will do everything possible to curtail the out-of-control courts, ranging from transparent elections to defunding to impeachment.
